A small screenshot of Sott Hansen's website in the middle of a long post on Smashing Magazine was enough to draw my attention. Behind this dark design lies a world of vibrant, beautiful colours, and it was really hard for me to pick only a few of his works to illustrate this post.

It's impossible to sum up his illustration work in only two posters. I really recommend you to browse the whole Print section of his portfolio. I stared at each and every piece in it. He also takes excellent pictures, with the same great attention paid to colours. You can really feel the connection between these two aspects of his work.

To conclude, a few words from Scott Hansen about his work:

Obviously I do a good deal of looking back when it comes to inspiration. I feel the design that blossomed from the Bauhaus movement and came of age in the 1960’s was the Zenith of an art form whose importance would fade away as Television, and later the Internet, took over the reigns of visual communication thus effectively transforming the medium.

Did I mention that Scott Hansen is also a musician? If you're curious (or if you like stylish, dark webdesign), you can check his Tychomusic project website.
